TEEBOFG
Teebofg is a rising star hailing from London, who has been on my radar since February. I discovered him on TikTok and immediately anticipated his music gaining traction from lovers of Lancey Foux and Fimi Guerrero. I have seen a couple of snippets circulating online and he’s giving me hope for the younger generation, who will be handed the baton from UK artist generals. His music reminds me of section boyz in their prime. It’s exciting to see someone merge styles from a time before drill dominated, with a newly introduced trap sound established by producers such as Back2Bally and Jaytrench. His latest track ‘Jerk’ is Teebofg’s spin on the La-originated jerk sound. He brings a catchy self-assured energy to the track accompanied by a grimey cadence.
CIEL
I originally discovered Ciel when he collaborated with UK artist Len on the song ‘Rum’N Coca’ where he displayed his capabilities with switching between flows and adapting to the beat. This song was a great introduction into the what Ciel is bringing to the table. He just recently released a single called ‘Lift It Up’ which is another collaboration with Len but I prefer this song much more as it displays Ciel’s talents more blatantly. His music seems fresh and authentic to him which I enjoy the most. I feel his blatant influences through his music which makes for a much more enjoyable and respectable listening experience.
SINN6R
SINN6R is one of my favorite findings simply because I’m so excited to see him get better and better. It feels like every time he drops a single he becomes more in control of his capabilities and how to express them. He has this strong aura of confidence, that shines through in his music which I feel is the main characteristic needed to sell a track. On tracks such as his latest release ‘Save The City’ he provides us with a plethora of double entendres, witty wordplay alongside an undeniable captivating flow. His cadence is very similar to Loski which works very well in his favour. I recently heard a snippet where he had sampled a Loski song which confirmed my suspicions, SINN6R is very aware of the leverage he has. His music is familiar yet also very new and different. Similar to TeeboFg I feel as though these two artists are incorporating influences they’ve known and loved into a new sound that will represent the UK coming into their own and I’m very excited.
